Colleen Clare-Irvin
Colleen Clare is a local artist living in Basalt. She has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for 15 years and loves all aspects of mountain life. The inspiration for her artwork comes from nature and her environment. She has been painting, drawing and creating art since childhood. After receiving a degree in fine art from Vanderbilt University, she studied art at the Marchutze School in Aix-en-Provence, France, where she started painting in the plein air style, painting outdoors directly from life. She continues to develop her techniques taking workshops from renowned plein air artists around the country. Colleen has also shared her love of art teaching children and adults for many years. For the last 10 years she has been busy operating her own decorative and faux painting business specializing in murals, furniture, wall glazing and repair work.
