Visiting Artist and Instructor
Sarah (a.k.a. Tootie Forbes) grew up in Aspen, in the days of dirt streets and no movie stars. She attended C.U. for 2 years and then graduated from the Boulder Valley School of Nursing. She returned to Aspen and worked in the Aspen Valley Hospital for a few years before delivering her first child there in 1976. She moved to Boulder in 1977, where she and her husband raised their 4 (now grown) children. She has been a studio potter for 22 years and is well known for her signature trout majolica ceramics. However, her true love has always been watercolors, spending summers in Aspen at the Anderson Ranch under the tutelage of her mentor, Anstis B. Lundy. She has exhibited both her ceramics and watercolors in numerous shows in Boulder, Denver, Aspen, Ketchum, New York, Key West and San Francisco.
